The 16 teams were drawn into pools at random. A team’s draw number is its position in that draw — it carries no ranking or expectation. R1–R3 mark each pool’s three fixture sets; the games are listed in the order they are played.

How It Works

16 teams in 4 pools of 4, 56 games over four days. Nobody is eliminated — every team plays all seven rounds, right through to a placing final on the last day.

  1. Pool play — three rounds. Each team plays the other three in its pool. Win 3 points, loss 1, forfeit 0. Games cannot be drawn; overtime is played.
  2. Crossovers — eight games. Pools cross over: 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd from a paired pool. This decides which half of the draw a team lands in, not whether it continues — the eight winners play for 1st–8th, the eight losers for 9th–16th.
  3. Quarter finals, then semi finals. Both halves run their own quarters and semis on the Saturday, narrowing each team to a single placing to play for.
  4. Eight placing finals — Sunday. Every position from 1st to 16th is decided by a game. The gold-medal final is the last of them.
